Best. Foldable. Ever.

Electronics giant Samsung put to bed any lingering questions about its commitment to the foldables market when it unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold7. The tablet tucked inside is amazing. But that's business as usual.

What's different this year is that the Fold7 is a compelling smartphone. It's stocked with premium features, and absent any real compromises you might expect for the privilege of carrying around a tablet inside your smartphone.

That's due in large part to just how sleek Samsung was able to make the Fold7. Unfolded and in tablet mode, the Fold7 is just 4.2mm. In comparison, this year's iPod Air, Apple's thinnest tablet, is 6.1mm - nearly half again as thick.

In smartphone mode, the folded Fold7 is 8.9mm thick. That's but a few hairs deeper than top-of-the-line phones from Apple and Samsung, each 8.3mm.
